History

The Dandenong Community and Learning Centre had its origins in the Dandenong and Westernport YWCA organisation under which it operated for some twenty years.

It operated out of the YWCA’s regional office at 47 Clow Street.

In 1991 DCLC was relocated to a Council-owned property at 34 King Street, Dandenong.

In 1999 DCLC became an Incorporated Association established under a voluntary Board of Management.

The range of programs and the number of support groups meeting in the facility has developed and expanded over the years adapting to meet the needs of the diverse community it serves.

In 2001 the property was extended and in 2008 a men’s shed was opened.
